These birds make wonderful pets. They are good natured and fun loving, they are decent talkers and make a good family pet. They are my bird of choice.

The Greenwing Macaw if considered the "King" of the Macaws, (Hyacinths are the Gods -but who can afford them). Greenwings make wonderful pets, though they are very large and possess an enormously intimidating beak. If this is your first bird that beak can be very intimidating, however they are truly gentle giants.  As with any large bird you must be in charge. If the size does not intimidate you and you are confident in being the " leader", then go for it.

The Scarlet Macaw is representative of everything the rain forest stands for. It is a magnificently beautiful bird. This bird has somewhat of a bad reputation, however, if you purchase a baby and raise him properly you will have one of the best pets you can imagine. These are loyal family bird but will not do well with strangers. I call them the doberman of the bird world.

This guy is a bit scatter-brained and will keep you on your toes. They seem to need a good deal more handling than the other subspecies but they are a lot of fun and can be a delightful pet.

Among the mini macaws, the Severe is my bird of choice. With a personality similar to the Blue and Gold, the Severe has good talking ability as well. Yellow Collared Macaws tend to be one-person birds and can be somewhat nippy.  The little Hahns are terrific little guys too.   The smallest of the mimi macaws, they are packed with personality
