These little birds can make wonderful pets but must be handfed as they do not tame down once weaned. They are colorful, friendly and precocious. However, to maintain pet quality you can only keep one. If you put two together they will most likely bond to each other and want nothing else to do with you. In a pair they are extremely noisy and messy.
