AFRICAN GREYS
Most people initially want an African Grey because they are considered the most prolific talkers of all! And this DOES make for an incredibly wonderful companion. But the Grey is not for everyone. The Congo Grey is a nervous, sensitive creature who usually tends to bond to only one person. He is definitely not for a household with children. Fast movements and loud voices create havoc in the psyche of an already timid, highstrung Grey. Prone to feather plucking under stress, the Congo Grey is happier in a household of calm, well-ordered adults. The Timneh Grey, while less available than the Congo, is smaller and not as flashy as its bright, red-tailed cousin. With charcoal grey feathering and maroon tail, the Timneh is calmer and more mellow and is now recognized to be as capable in the vocabulary department as the Congo. They make a wonderful family pet.
